Unleashing Creativity: Mentorship Program for Enhancing Junior High School Teachers' Scientific Writing Skills

Abstract

This activity aims to train teachers to think critically in finding problems, developing problems, synthesizing problems, and systematically formulating research results with the theme "Local Wisdom" as the theme stated in the Pancasila profile in the Prototype curriculum. The audiovisual (J-AV) based jigsaw learning method is assumed to be able to help teachers optimally develop ideas in the scientific work they write. The Hasanuddin University Faculty of Cultural Sciences community service team carried out activities in Maros Regency, Indonesia on Tuesday-Wednesday, 28-29 February 2023. This team consists of a number of lecturers, namely Asriani Abbas, Abbas, Ikhwan M. Said, Haryeni, Indarwati, and Basri. On the first day, the team conducted a workshop with material presentations, namely the Audiovisual-Based Jigsaw Method: An innovation to increase the capacity to write scientific papers, Language Rules for Writing Scientific Works, Conversion of Scientific Writings into Popular Scientific Papers (Opinion Articles), and Implementation/Simulation of the Audiovisual-Based Jigsaw Method. Participants in the workshop on implementing the jigsaw method for writing audiovisual-based scientific papers were 20 Petama Middle School teacher.
