Author Guideline

Thank you for considering Journal of Community Empowerment Research and Global Action Studies (CERGAS) as the platform for your research dissemination. To ensure a smooth submission and publication process, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Submission Process:

    • Authors must submit their manuscript online after registering as an author on the CERGAS Journal website .
    • All submitted articles must comply with the terms and conditions as per the manuscript template provided by CERGAS Journal.
  2. Manuscript Formatting:

    • The submitted text must be an original scientific paper that has not been previously published and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
    • Manuscripts can encompass results of studies (field/literature), conceptual ideas, empirical research, theoretical applications, and critical analyses within the context of community empowerment research and global action studies
    • Manuscripts can be written in either English (American or British) or Bahasa Indonesia.
    • Calisto MT font should be used throughout the manuscript
    • The manuscript should commence with an abstract of 150-200 words, written in English.
    • Keywords (4-5) should also be provided in English.
    • Abstracts must succinctly outline the background, objectives, data/methods, findings, conclusions, research gaps, and novelty of results.
    • Author name(s) should be provided without academic degrees. Correspondence will be conducted solely with the corresponding author, whose account was used for electronic submission.
  3. Manuscript Structure:

    • The manuscript should be organized into the following sections:
      1. Introduction: Includes problem identification, literature review, research gaps and novelty, research objectives, and benefits of the research.
      2. Method: Describes the research methodology, sample description, instruments, and procedures.
      3. Results & Discussion: Presents research findings accompanied by their respective analyses.
      4. Conclusion: Summarizes the research outcomes, emphasizing main conclusions and acknowledging limitations.
      5. References: Listed alphabetically in APA Style of Citation.
  4. Additional Instructions:

    • If multiple results require individual analysis, the Results & Discussion section can be divided into separate sections.
    • An Acknowledgement section should be included after the Conclusion, if applicable.
    • Titles of tables, charts, and figures should be placed at the top in bold with font size 10.
    • If charts or figures are not suitable for the two-column manuscript style, authors may submit .jpg or .png versions as supplementary files.
    • Manuscripts should be between 5 to 16 pages in length, with review papers having the flexibility for extension.
    • Authors must ensure that their work is free from plagiarism, falsification, and fabrication of data.
    • During the revision stage, authors must utilize Track Changes.
    • CERGAS Journal does not charge any submission fee. However, an article processing charge is applicable upon acceptance for publication. Details regarding the fee can be found here.

Submission Preparation Checklist:

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it under consideration elsewhere.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect format.
  • URLs for references, where available, have been provided.
  • The manuscript adheres to the CERGAS Journal template, and proper formatting as per APA style.
  • The text follows the specified stylistic and reference requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
